1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup finely ground almonds
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, gently toss the strawberries with the granulated sugar, and flour.
Pour strawberry mixture into the prepared baking dish.
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, ground almonds and butter until crumbs form.
Distribute crumb topping evenly over strawberries.
Bake for 45 minutes, until golden brown.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes: There is no oatmeal in this version like in traditional crumbles. Instead there are almonds, which lend a nice crunch.
